Artist

Gerry did his first drawing proper in 2002, The Old Forge in Santry Village, people liked it and wanted framed prints for their homes. Then they wanted more of the iconic buildings and places around the village/locality. Medium is ink pen on paper then transfer image to thicker paper. Stain using coffee and when dry colour with pencil. Add script describing image and a little about it..Gerry explains ” It’s really important for me  to include a script, information about the subject i.e buildings, when built, what year, who lived there, year demolished, etc…,
Date of actual sketch has to be included. Usually I sketch from photos, sometimes in situ and more again from memory”… His last big push for sketches was for his Book “Turn at the Pine Trees” in 2011. 20 new drawings were added to his collection of over 100 drawings. Gerry tries to do at least one sketch when he is abroad on holidays..and a few here and there in his beloved Dublin City….currently working on a selection for his next book “Farewell to the Pine Trees”….
