Bought his first Guitar in 1985 for 50 punts, from Ciaran Bourke who worked for Pat Dolan Ampification Equipment. Ciaran himself a legend Jazz Piano player in Dublin, was part of the Long John Jump Band.
Gerry regards himself as a decent ballad singer but more importantly a great front man. He has the ability to include all and handle as much banter and heckling as he gets. He has played in the Greek Embassy to a very culture diplomatic audience and is well known around the Pubs of Dublin and surrounding counties..This man of a 1000 sing songs and a 1000 pubs really enjoys the sing song tradition, telling stories and “Havin’ the bit of Craic” as we say here in Ireland.
Claim to fame sang recently in O’Donoghue’s Pub in Dublin, where the Dubliners themselves sang AND was barred out of two Pubs on the one night after Dublin beat Kerry in the Semi-Final in August 2013, Steady on Ger, Steady on…
